My Philosophy

Gary Spivack
My philosophy is simple: clients come first. I pledge to be in constant communication with clients, keeping them fully informed throughout the entire acquisition process. I believe that if you’re not left with an amazing experience, I have not done my job. I don’t measure success through achievements or awards, but through client satisfaction.

Captain Gary Spivack grew up on the south shore of Long Island racing one-design sailboats and cruising the Long Island-New England area. During college, he raced Star boats on the Great South Bay. In 1975, he went to work for a local Bertram dealer, managing brokerage and selling Bertram yachts.

Over the years, Gary has been involved in delivering boats up and down the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico while pursuing a career as a management consultant. For 30 years, he, his wife and daughter enjoyed cruising and racing sailboats on the Chesapeake Bay from Annapolis to Norfolk.

In 2003, he got his 100-ton master’s license and worked as a tow captain for TowBoatUS and operated a tour boat on the Potomac River near Washington DC.After leaving his career as a management consultant, he returned to yacht brokerage with Richard Bertram Yachts in Tampa. He now represents Fillingham Yacht Sales in St. Petersburg.

As an owner of a restored, Bertram 20 Bahia Mar and a Bertram 38 convertible, it’s safe to say, he knows his way around a Bertram.
